I enjoy life. I like the sights and sounds that come with experiencing it real time. It has ups and downs, twist and turns, and is very similar to a roller coaster. Only trouble is you can’t run back and take it over again so you can have a different reaction when it gets scary. You have to do the best you can with the knowledge that you have at that time. Knowledge is power.
This is why real life experience is necessary to become a grown up. To become a parent. To become someone of substance that gives the world something positive. If you are never forced to make tough decisions, sacrifice one thing for another, or put someone else’s needs before your own, your life is essentially useless. This is the hard truth and well I’m not here to sugar coat this shit.
I see these men in Chili that were trapped in a mine. A very tragic story that engulfed the world and we all feel happy now. Super. Why do you feel happy? Well, because they lived Bucky. Great. Why did they live?
The “leader” of these men figured out quickly that they were fucked. Not the good kind either like when you are pounding martinis at the Playboy mansion. That kind of fucked is well better than being stuck in a cave with no exit, surrounded by 32 other MEN, and said cave is 1/2 mile underground. Of course once the mine caved in he panicked and screamed really loud with the other men until the government swooped in and saved them all.
Ok that isn’t how it went. He rationed the food, decided what part of the cave they would shit and piss in, and then decided when was day and night using the headlights on the miner hats. Those hats are sweet and I’m going to buy one soon. Just in case. Here is the point. Banging a Playboy model is awesome.
Now for the important part when I tie this altogether and you hopefully learn something making you less of a piece of shit than when you woke up this morning. If these other 32 men had been selfish, had an “its all about me” attitude, and not been able to SELF SACRIFICE they would have all died.
The world and our lives are always full of little decisions that can have large consequences. Any one of these miners could have decided to shit in the middle of the room potentially spreading disease and killing everyone. One of them could have decided he was hungry and ate all the food in the middle of the night thinking a rescue would be quick and the “leader” was overreacting. Anyone of the 33 men in this “hell” could have said fuck it and screwed everyone else.
This story worked out because everyone of those men knew that the only chance they had to survive was to stick together and make it work. I’m sure they could have cared less if one of them was gay, who had light or dark skin, or who had sex with a Playboy model earlier. Actually the last one would be a good story to keep up moral so I take that back.
We all have areas in our lives that we can sacrifice in. The sense of entitlement in this country makes me want to puke. From the top down it is a disease that is slowly killing our souls. So many expect something for nothing. If you don’t see it, then you are the problem. Look in the mirror, what have you done for someone else lately?
I’m the same as you. I should do more. I’m tired, I’m busy, and I think of dozens of reasons all the time why I CAN’T. Funny thing is, I only need to think of one reason why I CAN and I’m suddenly changing someone’s life. Sacrificing my time, my money, or anything to put a smile on someone’s face.
The point of all of this is I’m simply trying to get Jessica Alba’s attention so I can have unprotected sex with her. On a side note though one could gather that you don’t have to wait for a fucking mountain to cave in on you before you start to change your behavior. Just do a nice thing for someone once a day, a week, hell once a month for some of you is an improvement. Think of how nice the world could be if we all spent our time thinking of how to ADVANCE the group.
Teach someone how to make their life better. Lead by example and help those around you in need. Slow down and let a car in front of you merge. Let the guy at the grocery store with 2 items go in front of you. A little self sacrifice can go a long way. Just stop and think “How can I make this situation better?”

Nice one – I like it!
