Drama. Funny little word that ends with Ma. Those close to me in my family will understand that it also starts with Ma. Ha ha. Those of you that don’t understand that, think harder, and then go fuck yourself. Drama is everywhere and none of us are immune to its nastiness. In the slightest moment you can go from being incredibly right, to incredibly wrong, and from drama free to becoming a drama queen.
Hmm might take on poetry now. Here is one. DWTS is fucking stupid, and if you watch it and read my blog then you are incredibly confused. I just read something about Bristol Palin being in the finals. First of all I don’t care, I promise. Winnie the pooh could be her dancing partner and stop in the middle of the Texas Two Step to eat her child bearing snatch and I would still not watch that show. Um yeah so I guess poetry will have to wait.
What did catch my attention is the fact a man from WI was so upset she made the finals that he shot his TV. I’m NRA all the way, but this guy should have to butter his toast with his fingers for the rest of his life, and certainly never ever be allowed to breed. Some say it must be a republican conspiracy enabling her to win. I agree. That makes a ton of sense.
I met a young man on Tuesday at the children’s hospital who turned 16 the day before, and currently weighs 43 lbs. His B-day present was a remote control corvette that I put together for him. He was so excited about it. I kept thinking all he could do though is watch someone else use it. He did not have control of his arms or legs enough to drive it. What have you complained about already this fine Friday? Someone drank the last of the coffee? You had to wait at an extra stoplight on the way to work? You don’t get to drive a NICE enough car?? TV to small??
Why is it that regardless of what we say or do it all comes back to “what about me?” Just like the guy shooting his TV, it came down to him not liking something that means absolutely NOTHING in the big picture and then threw a shit fit. Our actions have direct consequences on others around us, always. Crazy man shooting his own TV. Yep affects others.
This doesn’t mean you don’t have an opinion or take a stand on issues, sometimes you should speak up. It is a give and take world, the older you become, the more you should learn about how the decisions you make affect others. Everyday people will ask you for things and you should make an effort to work with them as long as it is reasonable. When they aren’t, you pull out a shotgun and kill everyone in the room.
The 16 year old super kid and I read the directions for that car and I explained how to maintain the battery life. After I was done I asked if he needed anything else. He simply stated “I’m good, but please hang out.” This I considered a reasonable request and decided not to pepper him with buckshot. Spending time with that kid reminded me once again that TIME is our most precious assest. The people with real things to complain about seem to realize that time spent with others is best spent being happy.
Then there are those of us with friends, freedom, and a never ending list of dumb shit to piss and moan about. You have the freedom of leaving your bed in the morning, friends to talk with all day, and plenty to eat daily. You complain that things aren’t going your way. You complain that mommy didn’t hug YOU enough. You find yourself upset at situations that a starving child in Africa would find extremely foolish.
The guy that shot his TV, did he think about others before he threw his little tantrum? What if he has kids? What about brothers & sisters that have to explain why Uncle Billy can’t cut his own steak anymore. Or the fact that the money he will spend on court costs could have paid for little Tammy to get braces so she doesn’t grow up to be a slut.
What actions in your life have affected those around you without you giving it a second thought? What if someone asked you for a moment of your precious time, to just sit and hang out? Would you make the sacrifice? The world and our lives are full of situations that will force us to react. What will you do? Do you think ME first??
With our new found technologies we can easily touch the lives of hundreds of people in a single day without even knowing it. The guy on the freeway you cut off, the shopping cart you left in a handicap spot at the grocery store, and the it makes me happy so it must be right mentality we all fall victim to. Staying rational, compromising, and thinking of others is the only way we will continue making the world better. We all currently live in a ME world, everyday we continue further down a very scary road, and our only hope is for a cape wearing superhero to appear.
