Must WIN

It bothers me that I haven’t been writing. I’m not even sure why, but I think it is partly because of all the working out. I’m tired. A lot. Turns out being in my 40’s and paralyzed isn’t the easiest time to become a workout fanatic. Should have started sooner, but that whole dying thing last year really set me back. Heck of a story if you ever want to hear about it let me know.

I see that LSU fired their coach. They only have to buy him out of a 54 million dollar contract. Is this what all those college loans that no one can afford go to?? A football coach?? These are the people teaching the next generation about how to be adults?? Blowing 54 million because a game didn’t go your way for a couple of weeks?? I have a very serious point to make here so read slowly…. The other team’s coach gets paid to win also.

Holy moly. Yeah sometimes you lose in life even when you do everything right. Maybe that is a lesson we can teach these whiny little brats that love to wave their 4 year degree in our faces. Life is hard sometimes. You can train hard, work hard, play hard, and still end up with an L. Wipe the dirt off, do it again, and for all your troubles you get another L. It happens. There are a ton of people out there working just as hard as you for the same damn prize.

Penn State did the same thing. They fired one of the most successful coaches in college football. Apparently he didn’t like showering with the team so they had to let him go. What?? To soon?? You can’t talk about that Bucky?? Shut up. You can’t rape children in the locker room moron. How about saying that. Off topic, but point made I hope. I’m just a bit baffled at the overreaction to a couple of games. Things happen. Maybe the coach made a wrong choice somewhere, but these aren’t guys that were coaching JV high school games last year and you decided to give a “shot” to.

How about this?? Keep your coach and take that 50 million you are about to piss into the wind, and pay off student loans for a bunch of kids that chose your school from all the other ones. Who cares if you lose a couple foosball games in the big scheme of things??

Maybe LSU will pay that guy from Penn State and Penn State can pay the guy from LSU. Now that would be awesome.

BREAK UP WITH HER

Motivation. What a crap word. It is a waste of energy and accomplishes nothing. Holy smokes Bucky how can you say that?? Cause I’m smart. Motivation is cause of every 1/4 finished project in the world. Go look at your garage that is kinda organized. One corner is not in chaos from that one Saturday you felt motivated to finally tackle that mess, but something came up so you couldn’t get the job finished. Cool. Now you just gotta wait another 6 months for the motivation fairy to bite you again. Let me know how that works out for you.

If I can’t get things done being motivated, what can I do Bucky?? Nothing you’re screwed. You will be a loser forever so just stop trying. I may as well tell half of you that because most of you might read this and then you’ll grab a bag of skittles instead of going for a walk at lunch. You’ve been lied to for your entire life, but for that quick minute you actually feel motivated you’re King Kong. Once the buzz wears off you’re left with nothing, but a half finished hangover. You’re now the King of not following thru. That sucks. I know because I have that same title under my name more often than I’d like to admit, but today is accountability day for all of us.

I’ve kicked motivation out of my house. She kept showing up drunk at all hours of the night, eating up all my food, and then trying to get a piece before passing out on my couch. I’m done with her. How do you get over a girl?? Sleep with her sister. This is still FknBucky. Okay back to my point today. The real answer for replacing motivation is to take obligation for a spin. Holy Moly. Are you saying to not be motivated, but to be obligated??? How will that help?

Let’s break it down and quickly because I know you are dying to watch clips of dogs running into glass doors on IG. Be obligated to yourself. BOOM. It is that simple. Look at yourself and say “I’m going to clean this eff’ing mess up.” Enough is enough. I’m going to lose the weight. I’m going to read the book. I’m going to take the classes. Now that you’ve broken up with motivation and going steady with obligation you can actually finish some of the amazing things you know you’re capable of.

Now the best part. Everyone likes to shove their success in the face of their ex. Take a pic of your family, people you care about, or even yourself and look at it every single day. Use that picture to remind yourself why you HAVE to stay obligated. That picture can motivate (so you’re saying there is a chance) you from time to time if you need a bump to keep you in the game. As you stack up wins make sure you give obligation a smack on the ass and say “Thanks Baby!”

CHAMPION

Well that game sucked. Said NO Philly fans. I really thought it would come down to the last drive of the game, but that Super Bowl was over at halftime. The Eagles had Patrick Mahomes’s number and kept dialing it like a teenage girl on her first babysitting job in the 90’s. Teenage girls spend a lot of time on the phone and in the 90’s there were no cell phones so while babysitting a young lady could use the phone all she wants. I forget some people don’t remember the olden times. Over and over that Eagle defense pounded Mahomes like he was paying for it in the Big Easy.

Like a professional though they took the L, gave glory to God, and moved on. It is already time to start thinking about next season. You can lose the game, but still be a champion. How Bucky?? The same way the Eagles did two years ago. Mahomes is no loser, Hurts is no loser, and all of those athletes should be insanely proud of the work they put in all season. Chiefs fans have nothing to complain about today. That was a magical season and winning 12 games by one score AND having 12 comeback wins in the 4th quarter is amazing! What an exciting season to watch.

If Jalen Hurts had let the loss of the Super Bowl ruin him two years ago he would never have made it back to become MVP last night. Just 24 months ago he woke up listening to all the people talking after losing the big game to the Chiefs about how he wasn’t the one, he wasn’t good enough to win the big one, and how he was this and he was that. He lost that game, but was a champion inside. YOU just didn’t know it yet, he never had any doubts.

We live in an age with tons of information at our fingertips. I can google the recipe for Pad Thai, the shoe size Shaq wears, and buy a new bedroom set all from my phone in less time than it took to write this sentence. People’s opinions are readily available for every sucker begging to hear it. I’m going to tell you something important. The only opinion that matters is yours. How do you see yourself?? What do you believe yourself to be?? A winner, a loser, a nothing…..

I’m a winner. I lose a lot, but I will never quit. When my time is done on Earth no one will say Bucky is a quitter that gave up when things got difficult. Nope. All I want to do is earn the respect of my peers by working hard, staying strong, giving my all everyday, and becoming a better man each day. I want to encourage those around me to be better by example. That is an important one. Telling other humans to be better is different than showing the benefits of bettering yourself to those you love and care about. Leading by example if you will. Another one of those old sayings that will never become outdated.

Be a champion in your mind so you can become a champion in everyone else’s.

Character and Leadership

The big game. Watching it now and just saw the interception by Hurts as a matter of fact. I was impressed by Barkley in the first quarter and wanted to write about it briefly. Maybe you will decide to read a bit for halftime….. Wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. I believe Saquon has about 7 yards so far which totally screws my bets up, but what are you going to do.

It was right after a questionable offensive pass interference call that went against the Eagles, stopped an awesome drive, and ruined a fourth down conversion. The fans booed, the coaches screamed, Tom Brady said “ I don’t agree with that”, and 50 million non Chiefs fans threw their hands up in the air screaming “SEE THE REFS ARE IN ON IT!!” Not Saquon though.

No he didn’t do that. I’ve been impressed with him all season by not playing late in games to pad stats, but would ride the pine to let the “young guys eat” as he calls it. Coming out of the game early to let some of the other players have a chance to enjoy the game they all love and have played their entire lives. That is character and no amount of money can buy it. You either have it or you suck at life.

I watched Barkley tell his teammates to “chill” and padded his arms at them to say relax it is one call in the game and there is A LOT of game left obviously. That is true leadership and it is awesome to see. That is what little kids should look up to. Not how many chains he has around his neck, how big his crib is, or how many flashy cars he has in the driveway. Those are all nice things to have, but don’t mean crap in the big scheme of things. When you are being lowered into the ground nobody is going to say “Good thing he/she had a bunch of cool cars.”

They are going to speak of your character, reliving stories of the random acts of kindness you committed, the next generation will talk about how you mentored them, shared wisdom with them, and took the time to make them better just because it is the right thing to do.

Be like Saquon.

Goggins

David Fucking Goggins. Wow. If you know the name then you know what is up. My sister in law gave me a book a few years back and told me to read it. I didn’t. In fact I unpacked that book when I got home, put it somewhere, and never saw it again. That was that. Around a year later I was scrolling IG and came across a video of someone talking to Joe Rogan about this crazy David Goggins guy. As I listened about him I thought “I have to know this person” so I googled him and started the research. I was instantly impressed and loved the fact this human existed.

I loved him so much that I had to tell my sister in law about this savage MF’er named David Goggins. She looked at me like I had a penis growing out of my forehead. It was at this moment I realized the book she gave me to read a year prior was the same one I was mansplaining to her. I’m awesome like this. Whatever. I just had to wait long enough for it to be my idea to learn about this badass human. Learn I did. I read both of his books and draw on his philosophy many times in my daily life. When you have to be a savage to simply get out of bed in the morning life hits differently.

I saw on the internet that Goggins was going to be speaking in Charlotte and immediately bought tickets to attend. It was with Aspire and if you have the opportunity to go please do. I decided to buy the advanced package so I could be up front where I belong. I’m way too good looking to be the back. Bucky is no wallflower. Front and center. Goggins came in, ran thru the crowd, and shook my hand as he went past me. I was elated to have this moment with someone I respect so much.

I can’t seem to type this damn paragraph. It keeps deleting. Four times now. I’m going to smash my iPad shortly. This blog is about to get real short or I’ll be spending $1,800 tomorrow. Goggins talked, then took questions, and I was the 3rd one to speak. I said “blah blah, you’re eff’ing great, blah blah, my story, and blah. I’ll post the actual recording on my IG tomorrow once I have time to collect it. A bunch of no longer strangers videotaped me speaking and sent it to me via text. At the end of my talking time I told David Fucking Goggins that I brought him a shirt and I’d be honored if he would take it. He did.

He then put it on in front of 3,000 people and continued his Q&A. I’m still a bit shocked it happened. I almost didn’t bring shirts with me, but at the last minute threw 2 of them in my bag. One I gave to David Meztler at lunch and the other to Goggins. About 10 minutes later Goggins looked right at me and said “I love this fucking shirt.” That is why I paid for the premium t-shirts instead of the cheap ones.

I need to write more, post more, podcast more, but right now I’m just happy. It was a wonderful moment in my life that I earned. Luck is simply when opportunity meets preparedness. Make your own luck. Read the books. Go to the events. Life hard. Be a savage. Man the F up.

Chase your dreams now. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Same Caramel Different Day

ZERO fat???? I asked. “Yes” was the reply. I had just mixed up my scrambled eggs up with butter, bacon, and love. I didn’t even get one bite when the doctor came in and looked at my kidney drain. Not one bite. The drain was cloudy. Cloudy is bad.

I

If I wanted to go home I had to commit to a zero fat diet for two weeks. Not idea what that entailed, but what the heck, I wanted to sleep in my own bed so I agreed. How hard could it be?? Turns out there is fat in Häagen Dazs. The world hates me is my only conclusion. All the things I love have fat in them.

My sister helped clear out the bad and shopped for the healthy before she picked me up to take me back to the apartment. I’m lucky to have a great group of family and friends. I spent yesterday cleaning and organizing my bedroom. You see the last five plus years have been insanely hard on me due to this darn infection, but I couldn’t see it. My energy went down, my pain went up, and life in general slowly began to downgrade allowing my world to descend into chaos. Fancy way to say my home is a mess.

While organizing and cleaning my bedroom I found something the sister missed. A large piece of caramel I bought a few days ago while at the the mall. You know the candy store by the door with insanely yummy everything.. I loaded up before surgery thinking if things go bad my corpse will be full of chocolate goodness. I lived so I was a man with way too much sugar in his system and a leftover caramel in his bedroom.

My first thought was I’m eating this M Eff’er right now. Then I remembered who I am. FknBucky? Nope. Bucky? Nope. Allen? Nope. I am a man of character and self discipline. I haven’t always won every battle in my life, but I’m not losing this one. I take a bite and it will taste amazing. After 57 hours of ZERO fat I’ve earned a little yummy. Bull$h!t. The goal to reach is two weeks.

I take that bite and all I’ll taste is guilt and failure. I’ve done that before and learned that lesson. Not this time. My character isn’t for sale. I will wait two weeks and that bite will be one of power and satisfaction. That little caramel bite will give me strength for the next battle that will surely come.

We all have it in us. Wait it out.

Drop Mind Pollution

Here we go. I’ve been tryin to make time to blog all last week, but somehow I kept finding excuses to do something else. It is hard to write when I’m tired. Seems odd, but my mind needs to be sharp and awake. Not the Red Bull kind of awake, but simply analyzing data with speed and ease. I’m sure this is why I have wit and comebacks when talking with others because my brain is working overtime to get the words in, analyzed, and then making my response flow out on time and with the right feeling. Words are only part of the equation. The tone of your voice, the face you make while saying those comebacks, the position your body is in (little harder to do in a wheelchair), the smile must be just right, and finally the eyes. They have to be soft and not threatening when hitting someone hard with words. Calling someone stupid is mean. Calling them stupid with soft eyes and a slight smile is funny. A lot going on in the three seconds someone tries to talk smack with me.

I love it though. The challenge. Everything in my life is a competition and I hate losing. Well, that isn’t true. I hate losing because I failed to bring my best. If I bring it all whether it is a fight, conversation, sales meeting, or anything I want to be victorious. Otherwise why are you there?? If you don’t see yourself standing in the first place spot at the end of the day why are you playing??? Who trains for 2nd place?? Funny answer. Most of you do. You have allowed others opinions to pollute your mind which then makes deals with you. Only try a little bit today. That way when you come up short it won’t be hurtful and no one will make fun of you. To that I want to say this “Fuck you and the mind polluters you hang around!!” I know Mom no swearing, but that point has to cut deep.

My nephew is at some training right now. He finished boot camp and now he is doing some additional training that will get his body in shape to go do the actual thing he is planning to do in the military. I’m being vague because it is none of your business what he is doing exactly, but this story requires you to know he is doing it. When he does it that means he is doing something that we are proud of cause he does that thing we know he is doing. Sorry I had Kamala help me with this paragraph. She won’t make it at FknBucky so back to something she won’t need intelligence for. Lighten up Francis.

I was talking to the nephew the other day and he was describing the training he was doing. A lot of everything with no sleep is what it boiled down to. He told me a whole bunch of kids have already quit. They started with 160 and by last count they only had 104. 56 people quit before the end of week 3. I don’t get it. Why did they even go?? I guarantee everyone of them in the back of their head heard the voice before day 1 saying “you won’t make it.:” I killed that voice a long time ago. He has unlimited lives like playing video games with my 8 year old niece. She makes sure I have 99 lives while playing the Simpsons with her. If I go below 90 lives it is an emergency that she fixes very quickly. Where was I?? Oh yeah. Quitter voice. It gets easier to kill him the more you do it. Pretty soon you can just Plan B that prick.

I’m proud of the nephew and hearing the intense crap they were putting him through made me have a deep respect for what he is going to accomplish. He asked what I have been doing and I replied truthfully without thinking “I made a cherry pie.” It isn’t often I wish for words back. I’m such a pansy these days…. He says “I just did a 7 mile hike with a 50 lb pack on.”

I respond with “ Lame, I made a pie. From scratch.” Can’t eat a hike with ice cream. Here is the deal. He rocked that hike. There is no chance he will quit. Zero. I tell him every time we talk “you don’t have to be first, but you better out work every other person there.” Never stop trying. I can’t hike. I can make a pie and it will be the best darn pie in Charlotte.

We all have dreams. Chase them. Go for it. Stop worrying about failure. It only exists if you allow it. I try and if it doesn’t work, I analyze why, and then try again. I gain knowledge every time so it isn’t a failure, but another step up closer to my goal. If you are going to California from Ohio and one day you make it 800 miles, but the next you only make it 50. Is that a failure or are you closer to your goal. Fix the way your mind uses information and kick to moron out that is crying you only made it 50 miles. They will sit down and wait for some other idiot to pick them up. Unfortunately the world is full of idiots. It is easy to be one. You don’t have to be one though. You read FknBucky that is like making it 2,000 miles a day.

Funny I had a blog in my head about mentors and heroes, but my heart decided to write a different message. I want to write forever. I want millions to find inspiration and hope in my message. I’m not there yet, but in my mind I have been there since I wrote the first sentence on the first blog. Somedays I make great progress and others I make very little, but the fight continues. Quitting will never be an option. If it was that means I never actually started.

Whatever you want start now. Right now. Sign up for the online class. Research starting your own business. Go volunteer. Mend a broken friendship. Most importantly stop listening to people and voices that say “you can’t.” They are wrong. They are scared to try. They are nothing to you. Just start and you will see how quickly all those negative influences become a sentence in a paragraph somewhere that eventually gets edited out.

Love who you are today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Have some Class

Good Morning. I’m short on time, but not short on message. I watched the Packers lose last night for the 7th time this year and like everyone I was disappointed. Very very disappointed. Not with the team, but the fans that were in attendance for the game. When I heard the “boos” draining down on the home team because a play didn’t go your way>> What a bunch of whiny little pricks. Oh no, we have a losing season for the first time in what 15 years?? The players get paid millions Bucky so I can treat them like crap.

No they don’t and a person with character would never boo the home team over something so petty. The big names make millions, but a large number of players still make a few hundred grand a year. Yes that is a lot to many of us, but they earn it putting on a show for us every Sunday or in this case Thursday. Yes this team needs to work out the mistakes and timing, but to rain down the boos on National TV was a disgrace.

Rodgers was off and missed some throws. It happens. For the last 25 years the Packers have had a wonderful run with the Brett Farve era and then moving right into the Aaron Rodgers time. I mean look at Detroit. That is a team and fan base that has learned to lose every year over and over and over and over and over….. You could just go west and become a purple loving %#&*%^&#%*$*(#(#*&#^&&@#^!!!!! If you do this stay there. Stupid Vi-Queens..

I don’t have a ton of time today so this one is short. It is okay the message is clear. Have some class in life. Stand up tall and take the L like a ma…. I’m not going to be sexist today. Take the L like a stand up citizen. These players were out in 25 degrees and played their heart out. Here is a little thought for you. The other team gets paid to win too.

Have fun in life. Go to the game and appreciate it for what it is. An experience to come together as a community to support the home team. The outcome of the game is what it is. The players and coaches are the only ones with any control on that. You screaming “RUN THE BALL” from seat L420E doesn’t matter and will make zero difference.

Next time you buy tickets leave the “boos” at home, but bring the booze for the tailgate party. Please like and share, give 5 stars, or make a comment. 2023 will be a big year for the blog with your help. I can’t do it alone.

Go Pack Go!!

Leash or no Leash…

Every blog I write from now until someone is convicted of murdering our brother Ryan Cooper will have this message at the top. Please contact the police if you saw or heard anything. There is a reward now, not that should make a difference, but to some it does. Have no fear of someone trying to keep you quiet as an army of Busch Light brothers are more than willing to protect you from some low life piece of shit murderer. Justice for Coop.

Monday night. Sometimes I watch the game, but no interest tonight. I’m actually just tired. I had a ton of things going on over the weekend so there was no down time. I go back and forth. I’m so busy blah blah, but when I take time to do nothing I feel bored and restless.. I assume many of you are the same way. As I lay in bed throwing that darn pink ball every three minutes I realize after all I’ve been thru in life, I am a ball thrower for my leader. I wish she could talk for a day to tell me exactly what she is thinking. Probably better she can’t. I used to tell people if Murphy could talk I would muzzle her. She knew where the bodies are buried.

Annabel is around 18 months now. She is a great friend and very smart. I enjoy getting to teach her things and see her do more and more. I don’t have kids so I guess this is what I have. I almost never use a leash anymore with her. She doesn’t need it. She knows not to go out into a street until I say okay. She will run ahead of me, but always waits right on the curb. It didn’t happen overnight and took a lot of work and patience. Every single time we would cross a road I make her sit down over time it sinks in that there is a danger and she does it without me telling her. There is a bunch of things like this I can list out, but maybe another day. I have a point I want to get to.

So tonight while playing frisbee with her I was thinking about the no leash thing. I’m sure I’m breaking a couple laws in Charlotte, but I make a point to break a few laws everyday just to make me feel young again. Annie is a different dog when I put the leash on her. It is like she becomes this dumbass dog that just wants to make me insane. Part of me thinks she does this to make me want to take the leash off. I don’t blame her as I’d hate to have one too. Leashes for people. Sounds crazy, but does it?? When Annabel is off the leash she has some skin in the game. She makes a mistake and wham the consequence could be death. I know this game. 20 years ago I made the mistake of getting on a motorcycle. Still paying for that one. Consequences are hard.

When she is free she gets to run fast, sniff what ever she wants, jump around, and be a fun happy dog. It does come at a price as she is now responsible for her own well being. I can watch her and scream if she is about to get on a motorcycle, but at the end of the day she has the power. Now she can give up that chance of death and being hurt by allowing me to control her. I can put her on a leash and she can never get more than 5’ from me. No danger, but no running ahead. No sniffing outside of the 5’ mark. We all have choices to make in life and even small choices can have long lasting consequences.

We tell people that we will take care of them. We will give you low rent housing. We will give you food money. We will teach your children what we want them to learn. You can have all of this, but you have to stay within the 5’ mark. Don’t go over there. There have been so many generations now that only know the leash. They have never smelled the air without the musty stench of the leash 3” away from their nose. They have never had the chance to try something, fail, try again, fail, try again, fail, try again, and fucking NAIL it. That is a feeling EVERYONE on Earth needs to have at least once. It is more addicting than any drug you can shoot up. They have no idea where to start because it is completely foreign to them.

Now before you go freaking out that I am a monster that doesn’t want to help people. First – I do more charity work, donate my time and money than anyone else I know. That is just a simple fact. Feel free to do more than me. I would welcome that with open arms. I don’t do it to be number 1, I do it because it needs to be done. It is that simple. Secondly there is no action in the world that happens without consequence. Ever. There is always something that comes from something else. I’m using small words because I think you are stupid. haha. When you give someone everything you think they need to survive, you take away that desire to be off leash. Not right away, but over time day in and day out, the drive to see what it is like to run ahead kind of disappears in a sad poof of nothing.

When you have kids that grow up watching you be on the leash your whole life, what do they learn?? Stay on the leash and don’t bite the hand. There is no self confidence in that leash. There is no brighter future in that leash. Just a simple existence that is neither dangerous or remarkable. It is just there.

This is how my brain works. I see things like this and then I wonder about them for a while until I move on to a new thing to ponder. Where do you want to be?? Off leash? On the leash and know about the free life, but choose the leash?? Or on that leash without the knowledge or even a taste of what the other side is. Sadly I think we have a massive growth in this category. People so checked out that they don’t even know what they are missing. They fail once, Mommy comes to dry the tears, and together they vow to never try something hard again.

Every single day you wake up you get to make the choice. Leash or no leash.

Are you a winner??

Sunday. NFC Champoinship game is on now and I get to watch the Packers play at least one more game this year. As I type this now we are down by 7 and Rodgers just got sacked on the 5 yard line. Damn it. I’m passionate about them and obviously want them to win. We all want our team to win, to be better than others, and we all love that feeling we get when winning. For most people it is addicting and you want that feeling all the time regardless of what happens to the “loser” or the other side. You want your win. Everyone is guilty of it one way or another. You don’t like football, take your pick on the other wins we gotta have including arguments with friends/family, proving a co-worker wrong, and the big one right now politics.

I had the pleasure of living next door to a NFL player for a couple years. He lived in the apartment right next to mine so I got to know him and his young family pretty well. I would tease him often about the Packers. Once I told him someone keyed his brand new HellCat charger and watched all the happy drain out of his face as I said “Yeah man, someone wrote GO PACK GO right on your hood. He laughed saying “you got me good there.” I share this as there is a point to my blah blah blah.

Time went by and that year in November the Packers came to town to play the Panthers. It was a crazy week leading up to the game and on game day I went to Packers tailgate party outside of the stadium as we all know Packer fans travel well. My good friend whom we call Rowdy won 2 tickets to the game and generously asked me if I wanted to go. Hell Yeah I wanted to go. Next thing I know I’m in the stadium getting ready to watch my team play the home team. For the record this was the day “I’m goooood brahh…” became a saying. The story behind that is a freaking great one, but you don’t get to hear that one today.

Prior to leaving for the tailgate party I had purchased a greeting card saying good luck and wrote a nice note in it for my Panther player next door. I came to really like him and his wife. It was funny he was always offering to carry things for me like the water jugs I get delivered, but I was scared he would pull a muscle in his back and then Panther nation would blame me for losing our cornerback. Okay getting off topic again. I wanted to wish my friend luck even though it was going against my team winning. I had been giving him shit for 4 months prior to this game and loved every second of it.

In the note I told him that to me it was simply a game. I wanted my team to win because it is natural and I wanted my “high” for the day. I thought about it that week though coming to the conclusion that it was just a game. To him it was his livelihood and the way he took care of his family. I realized it was bigger than me. In your rush to be right, to win, take a moment to pause and try to identify with who you are beating. There is a good chance you don’t know the back story, how that person got to where they are, and no matter how flipping right you think you are, there is a chance you’re not. Sometimes in life the end result that benefits you the most is not the best ending. I know in your selfish mind you can’t even grasp that concept.

The Packers lost that day. My neighbor shut down Randall Cobb for the game and it was great to see that for him. My neighbor was very happy when I saw him later that evening. He thanked me for the note and said the whole Panther team gave that note credit for the win that day. Okay that didn’t happen although he did thank me for the note. I ended up feeling better that night than I would have if the Packers won that game. I think about that day, that game, and that night from time to time when I need perspective on what is actually more important in my life and the lives of other humans.

It is the fourth quarter now so I’m done here. Just remember being a good human usually means doing the opposite of winning.

Go Pack Go.
