meet FKNBucky

I am ALIVE!!! This is true.

I am blessed. This is also true.

More truth for you. I have been in the hospital since April 30thish, 2024…… I went down for the big count. Around May 5th I ran out of air. I was no longer able to breathe. I was told for days by hospital staff that I was simply having a panic attacks. I do a lot of things. I curse to much. I call stupid lazy people stupid and lazy to their face. I love my family/friends. I make very inappropriate jokes/comments. I laugh at racist jokes. Mostly after I say them.

What I don’t do is panic. Ever.

I’ve had a bad kidney for over 6 years. I’ve had some other health issues for a lot longer. I’ve been trying to get these problems identified and handled and have tried for a very long time. Why don’t I tell you??? Cause you got your own BS to handle. I mean that in a positive light. I never planned for this to blow up so big and become such a hard thing to deal with. I had no strength, energy, and it sucked. I had no phone calls, emails, and couldn’t take of Annie. Some of the hardest and darkest days off my life. No doubt.

Slight side note, but relevant:

I am comfortable with violence. I think a punch in the mouth is needed sometimes. Given and received depending on what time you started day drinking. Day drinking with a side of violence. I love Wisconsin so much…. And IA, and NY, and AL, GA, NC, SC, KY, NJ, and a former CO resident named Nate from NJ, Dave Dean, and many others . When I fell out/died at the hospital for almost 3 days last week they forgot to move my left arm. Now it is numb and don’t work. Being a quad is HARD. I have so much more respect for those who face that challenge everyday.

It is Slllllloooooooowwwwly coming back. I feel like I should be able to punch the person responsible in their face without jail time. My left arm/hand is dominant although I am ambidextrous, but both arms are equal when attempting to push a wheelchair in a straight line. My logic is I should get to dot Billy’s “move the arm guy” eye so he sees fuzzy out his left eye while I’m stuck rolling in circles….. What if Billy is a girl Bucky??? Duh. I do the right thing and use gender neutral violence obviously throwing the headbutt. I’m not stupid. I am funny however and you love my genuine ass.

Now that I can use a phone again I have a lot of blogs to write. You will enjoy them. I’m sorry many of you had no idea how sick I was. I couldn’t type and it happened fast. PLEASE follow this blog and the podcast. Future info will come thru here and the podcast. I have a large family and SSOOO many amazing friends from all over the world. You are the reason I never stop fighting for my life or my right to say messed up things to make people laugh. This experience will be shared fully and I’m hoping to write blogs daily, but I also have a ton of therapy and life to catch up on.

I love you all. Truly. My family. My friends. My colleague’s who are both. Without you all there is no Allen, no nBucky, no FknBucky, no fight, no stories, and I owe all of you my life. Thank you.

The Power of Heated Steering Wheel

What is going on here?? I started this blog before the Iowa Caucus so that is why I’m talking about Vivek. Just because he dropped out doesn’t mean I don’t like him anymore. I’m grateful I took the time to listen to him. As genuine a person you will find.

I try hard to stay out of politics, but I could not resist talking about Vivek. The man intrigues me and truth be told, I like him. My liking him has nothing to do with him getting elected or what your opinion should be of him. I promise not to harp on this particular subject to often, but I want to take you on a written word drive right now. Buckle up!! You just might learn to use that head of yours for more than a Busch Light entry hole.

It is cold. Thanks for pointing out some obvious crap Bucky, you might say. I had an appointment with my go to Asian masseuse this morning so I had to head out around 8 am. I bought a minivan a few years ago so I could drive the wheelchairs and equipment I sell around. I thought about getting a “cooler” car, but truth is I can not pick up girls in a minivan just as good as I can not pick them up in a Porsche Cayenne. I really want one, someday I’ll be able to afford a poster of one to put above my bed or something. My minivan is cool though it has tinted windows, spilled chips, and my personal favorite smells like whatever Annie rolled in yesterday.

The minivan has a heated steering wheel. I’d never heard of such a thing to be honest and didn’t even realize it was there when I bought the van. One day it was cold and I used the auto start. When I got into the van and started driving I thought “Ooooo, that’s nice…”. There is a point, just hang on. Last I’ve thought about it. It is normal now. I was looking at new vans last night just because and found one I liked with low miles. Looking at the options on it, I noticed there was no heated steering wheel, and that meant it was a no go. That option is simply too good to give up in my tiny human brain.

Now. Let’s look at something else. Power. It is better than drugs. Making people do things because you have power over them. A boss. A parent. A tough guy. A politician. Hmmm interesting now eh.. A boss can be fired. A parent can only rule 18 years. A tough guy, well there is always someone tougher. A politician only needs to manipulate your tiny brain every few years. You see the power they acquire is like my heated steering wheel. They can’t give it up. Seemingly good people corrupt themselves in the name of “helping you”, helping me, helping the guy that can’t help himself. They remind themselves how important and smart they are. You would be lost without them so that justifies hanging onto that power no matter what it takes.

They say “This is good for you, trust me!” Nope. My BS meter goes off anytime someone says this is good for you. How do you know what is good for me? You aren’t me. You’re not my spouse, best friend, or at the very least someone that knows what color Tommy John I got on today. These boxer briefs are like heaven. Worth every penny even though I shoplift mine. As long as you’re under $1,000 they don’t prosecute. Hey don’t blame me. You keep voting these idiots into power. I had to Bucky, the TV told me the other guy was racist and killed gays on the weekend. Just knowing your level of stupid exists makes me feel better about myself.

Every year the power these folks have becomes more and more addicting. For Big Bangs sake why do we have senators that are 90 some years old?? WHY??? 50 years in public service. I have another beef there. Public service my butt. Why you worth 200 million when you started out broke?? Job only pays $150,000 a year. I don’t blame the politicians. I blame you. I blame me. My parents. Your parents. Our neighbors. We allow it to happen over and over and over….. As long as they have a D or an R by their name they are on my side. Here is the truth. You don’t have a side.

So money and power. Hmmm thank baby Jesus (Just watched Talladaga nights) that money and power have never corrupted good people in the history of mankind. Clearly the 700 folks that have it would never do anything questionable to keep it. They lie to your face. They manipulate facts to push their agenda. They suppress video evidence. They lose emails. They hide behind this and that. They kill Jeff. There is nothing they won’t do to keep the power, the money, and the opportunity for MORE.

I just wanted a heated steering wheel. My brain went all crazy blaming my steering wheel wishes on corrupt politicians. Now I will get a cold wheel and get rid of power steering to try and save my soul.

Stop following, trusting, and believing in people because “they” tell you to.

READ the language of actions.

LISTEN to what they don’t say.

WATCH who benefits from what they do.

Memorial Day

Life is pretty awesome when you allow it to be. We live in America (most of us as I have some very distant readers) which is the greatest country in the world. Mainly because I’m here. There are a lot of people, millions of people in fact, that we will never get to know. They are impossible to meet. They laid their lives down to protect future generations in this country. In my opinion you owe them the respect to understand exactly how big that price was they paid. I love reading history. There is so much we didn’t learn in high school or college. Simply posting a photo on social media of a widow at a gravestone is not showing the respect all of those fallen soldiers deserve. You are free to stand on a street corner and yell “America Sucks”, “America is racist”, or “America is the devil” because of brave men and women you will never meet.

This country isn’t perfect, but no where is. Simply look at where we used to be compared to where we are now. Eventually we get it right, but it never happens overnight. I say this A LOT because it is true. You can’t HATE something or someone into changing. You can love someone so much they have no choice to trust you and learn from you. You take the most racist white power asshole out there and when you scream HATE at him/her you only fuel that hatred. Set that same person down with a black person that only shows love and compassion to them for a real conversation. That changes things. Even the biggest of ignorance can not ignore that all those feelings of hate are based in fantasy land.

Being wrong is okay. It is okay as long as when reality slaps you in the face, you learn the lesson and change your heart. On this Memorial Day weekend please take the time to understand the freedoms we enjoy 365 days a years did not come cheap. America isn’t perfect, but we have the freedom to change. We have the freedom to lead by example. We have the freedom to chase our dreams. Ignorance, evil, and just crap people are never going away. No matter how many laws you make, catchy slogans you come up with, or how many people you hate for good these type of people will always be there. Learn to identify them and then forget about them.

On another note I wanted to share a cool story. Years ago on Memorial Day I wanted to honor those that gave up all for my freedoms so I drove to Balboa Park in San Diego. Awesome place by the way. They have numerous museums for this and that. I had no plan and just went. I ended up at a military museum that honored some remarkable people who did extraordinary things when the need arose. I am fascinated at the strength some people have in the hardest of situations. Without a doubt stories like this help me daily to deal with my own challenges. Remember people don’t judge you on the problems you face, but they do form opinions about you from the attitude and strength you have facing those problems.

I was in this museum for about 15 minutes when some guy came up and asked if I wanted to meet “Gunny”?? I had no idea what the heck he was talking about, but of course I said yes. He took me into the back room where all the drugs were. Wait wrong story. When the door opened I rolled thru it and there he was. R Lee Emny. Mr Full Metal Jacket himself. I thought well this is a cool surprise. Turns out he was there as a spokesman for WD-40 to give a check to some Veteran charity. I believe it was Wounded Warrior Foundation, but not 100% on that. Point is I had no idea, but I was able to talk with him for almost an hour in that back waiting area.

He was awesome and had some great stories to share. Fun how sometimes things just happen. The world is a pretty amazing place full of incredible people. Take the time to learn from individuals outside of your circle. As we get older our circles seem to get smaller. My favorite thing in the world is talking to people from somewhere I know nothing about. I didn’t even know Estonia was a country until I met a girl from there. I think it is in Australia. Ha.

Use this day to show respect and appreciation to those that gave their lives for an idea of freedom. Learn their stories, teach those that look up to you to have respect, and mostly simply lead by example.

Get your FknBucky shirt ordered! I appreciate you all.

When Kids Fail, we all win.

Disclosure: I wrote this blog a couple days ago, but my real life job (the one that pays for all my luxury items like my chick magnet mini van) got in the way of my writing career.

I like the blog I wrote yesterday. Sometimes the next day when I read them again I’m like “Eh, it could have been better.” That is okay though. Nothing is perfect every time. It is okay to fail and in fact it is good when you do. I say often and as far as I know I’m the only person I’ve heard say it so it is my quote. I expect credit every time you steal it. Here you go. Bad days are great, without them how would you know you’re having a good day??? Wow my crippled ass oozes wisdom. Just remember if you call me crippled I’m going to stab you and get away with it. I am just faking being paralyzed for the chicks. I used to tell that joke on stage and one of the worthless crap bag other comics actually started to BELIEVE it. Damn people are dumb. He literally grabbed me and pulled me out of my chair in front of the Comedy Store in La Jolla. Sure wish a couple Iowa/Wisconsin friends were with me that night. Dude would still be using a straw to eat steak. Someone did punch him in the face, but not nearly enough times. Okay way off course now. That guys sucks at life. His name is Gordon. Feel free to punch every Gordon you meet just in case it is him. How many can there be???

Failing is good. I just proved it isn’t always a good thing. Gordon failed at life. Like completely. Don’t take failing to that level. When I used to snowboard (I MISS IT SO MUCH) I would often say “if you aren’t falling you’re not trying.“. You have to push the limits to grow and sometimes you just miss the mark. I love to make people laugh, truly it is quite possibly my favorite thing to do. If you know me personally you know this to be true. Sometimes though my jokes fall very flat. It is kind of embarrassing and a few times are burned into my memory like “Oh shit, I really wish I had that comment back..”. I wouldn’t change a thing though. When this happens I usually say “they can’t all be zingers..”. You have to put yourself out there or be happy hugging the wall, riding the pine, or any other analogy about not getting into the game.

How you deal with failing is a massive part of the character you have as a human. If you throw a fit and whine to anyone that will listen well lets just say that is not the right way. Accepting the failure and then analyzing it to learn from it so that you are better next time is the right reaction. Not always the easiest option, but it is the right one. When we jump in to save our kids the pain of failure at ANY age you are stealing the lesson from them. Our first reaction is to protect them which is a noble one, but you have to fight that urge and let nature do its thing. Learning to fail correctly can start at any age. We never stop failing/learning as we grow older, but the problems and consequences get a lot bigger as we age. This is where wisdom comes into play. Learning the lessons at age 3, 4, or 12 years old lets us develop the skill of coping with failure. When you “protect” a child from this hardship they miss out on the lesson which leads to much harder times later on in life.

All of a sudden you are 20 years old and failure feels like the end of the world because you’ve never dealt with it. Let the lego tower fall and break so little Timmy learns to go thru the motions. First is the disbelief the tower feel, then anger at the thought of the stupid tower, depression because it sucks to have to start over, and then acceptance that it happened and the lesson of why it happened. Next time Timmy will build a larger base to keep the tower steady as it gets taller and taller. Grabbing the tower as it starts to fall and handing Timmy a cookie is wrong. He learns nothing and becomes fat. Not a horrible thing cause when Pippa comes out with a need for children burgers I’m coming for fat little Timmy first. Read the blog “Royals” if you want to understand that last line. You really do have to read every blog.

Timmy Burch lego. Google it.

None of this means you can’t help. In fact quite the opposite. You should be there to help point out the lessons learned and guide a young person in the correct way to accept failure. Help them see the lesson. Now here is the big one. If no one ever let you fail you don’t have the wisdom needed to teach this ever important life lesson. This leads to the snowball effect that continues for generations. Every time it gets a little bit worse until some catastrophic event happens leaving many to ask “What happened?? How could this of happened??” You heard it here first. All of the problems in the world lead back to Timmy and those darn legos. How do you prevent this?? First of all don’t name your kid Timmy and never let them play with legos. Easy enough. I’m here to help.

Life is awesome. It is also very very hard sometimes. Learning how to cope is a big part of having a happy life. I guarantee you that at some point in your life you will experience failure that seems overwhelming, but if you have had practice your whole life you’ll be ready to deal with it. No one goes thru life without stupid mean challenges hitting us in the face sooner or later. Take the punch and learn to duck next time, but also learn how to punch back. Exactly. Violence solves problems. Another great lesson for young kids, but I’ll write that blog another day. Right after I write the “Your kids should only be friends with other kids that look like them and think like them” blog. A lot of sarcasm there unless your name is Gordon. Then get ready. We are coming for you.

Remember young people are always watching. What kind of example are you???

Be kind to others. Not for them, but for you. You will love the person you become when you put the feelings and needs of other people in front of yours.

Marriott No No

What a week. I’ve had so many little things irritate the crap out of me that I have a feeling two more and I will explode. Don’t believe me?? Just try. Be the one that puts me over the edge. This is actually not recommended. The world can be a Dick sometimes and it just makes you want to smash things. I know I said that you should not blast all your stuff out into internet land, but today I break all the rules. Want to know some really dumb stuff?? Cool cause I’m about to blow it up.

I travel a lot. It is my thing. I stay in hotels a lot. I stay in Marriott hotels a lot. I’m what they call a titanium member and have been for a number of years now. I stay at the same hotels many times and know the staff there personally. Some of you might even remember me posting things like the Asheville Courtyard Marriott decorating my room for my birthday and bringing out a cake. Say what you want, but the truth is people love my crazy ass. Some of you have known me since I was a teenager and not much has changed. I simply love to laugh and mess with people until they laugh too. I went to war in my head after getting paralyzed to make sure I didn’t lose that part about me. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone thru and can’t imagine anything else in life ever coming close to the darkness those days represented. You don’t know and I pray no one I care about ever truly knows the strength it took to not embrace that darkness.

Another day we can discuss that. Or not most likely as I don’t particularly like going back there. It is painful and scary to be honest. Feeling great yet?? Ha. You should be, if I can smile and laugh you sure as heck better be able to. With my status comes rewards from Marriott. They vary in what they are, but the two most common are vouchers for a free night up to a certain point total. Most of the times these vouchers are good for 40,000 points which is plenty to get a nice room just about anywhere. The higher end Marriotts can be all the way up to 120,000 points per night, but your local Courtyard is usually about 30,000. The other option are suite night awards. Instead of one free night you can get five nights upgraded to a suite for no additional cost. A very cool option for vacation when you have some loved ones with you.

Marriott gave me a choice on which one I wanted, but the email asking me went into my spam folder and I never saw it. They have also given me 10 suite night awards sometime last year I never asked for as well. Yahoo Marriott!! Thanks for the free stuff. Here comes the kicker. They do not have accessible suites in many of their hotels. My colleagues I travel with are mostly all titanium members as well and they get upgraded almost every stay to a suite or better room. I do not, because I need the accessible room. It is what it is. I use a wheelchair and in order to keep my sanity I accept things like this simply because to get upset by means I’ll be pissed off all the time. I don’t have that in me.

Last week I thought to myself “Self why don’t you email Marriott customer service and ask them to swap my suite nights for vouchers.” Seemed really logical to me as I can’t use the suite nights. I’ve tried in the past and every single time the hotel does not have accessible suites making it pointless. I explained that I am paralyzed from the chest down and because of that unable to stay in the suites of their hotels. I honestly don’t think I was asking for anything crazy, but simply asking to have my reward switched to something that I can actually take advantage of. The reality is it is BS they don’t have accessible suites in the hotels. I know us cripples make normal people uncomfortable so it is discouraged to leave the house and certainly not to try and stay in an upgraded room. Nope us cripples usually stay on the 1st floor next to the laundry room and elevators.

I was met with a massive NO WAY no matter who I talked to. I was kind of taken aback like “whoa” what did I do wrong?? I had one guy tell me other guests can’t change their rewards so I shouldn’t be able to change mine. I asked if all the other guest were paralyzed front the chest down to which he replied he treats everyone the same way. While that is a “thing” in my personal opinion it was being applied wrong. I explained to him/her that I understand the policy, but was hoping they could treat me like a person and not just Marriott member number 3938364 (not my real number). In life and business a person needs to understand that being right is sometimes the incorrect answer. I truly thought someone would say “Oh man, that is not cool” and then figure out a cool way to help me out. Instead I was left feeling ashamed I even dared to ask.

I obviously didn’t take my first three NO’s and quit so I started to email more and more people about my situation. I can afford the stupid rooms, but it became more about the principal than anything else. My final email back from someone started out thanking me for my loyalty to Marriott and how much they appreciate my position. I’m assuming they appreciate I’m paralyzed, but not exactly sure what that statement meant. This guy acknowledged the suites are not accessible, making it impossible for me to use the reward, but they still refuse to change the rewards and I should stop because it can not escalate further. Escalating is what I do. I’m hoping it is what you do too. I am fine with keeping the suite night award, but that should mean I have every opportunity to use my reward just like others.

Maybe I’m looking at this wrong and if you think that please let me know because the way I see it sucks. I love Marriott most of the time. In fact I have written a dozen complimentary emails with one of them leading to a group of employees at the Courtyard Marriott in Asheville, NC to be recognized nationally by Marriott receiving an award. They could use their award as it was cash I do believe. I really believe Marriott should be better than this. What do you think???

Be kind to others unless you’re Marriott. Then do whatever you want because you are massive and trading out one crippled pricks suite nights to free stay vouchers will bankrupt the whole company.

Pick It Up.

Yesterday we touched on stupid. Today we have stupid, lazy, entitled, jerk face people. I simply don’t get it. I’m glad I don’t understand otherwise I would be one of them. How do you look yourself in the mirror everyday knowing how big of a shit bag you really are. It doesn’t matter if you get away with it, it is a character thing and obviously you have NONE. If you are too lazy to pick up after your dog, do you even feed him/her??? Do you give them water or too lazy to do that as well???

This was just now on the sidewalk in front of my apartment complex. It is so disrespectful I barely have words to express it. I’m trying but in reality this is where violence is a much better choice. I want to grab this persons neck and shove their nose in the pile of dog shit until they get the message. PICK IT UP. I picked it because I’m a good human and to leave it wasn’t actually an option in my mind. There is a poop station 30 feet away with hundreds of bags and a trash bin to throw it away. There is no excuse except you are a self entitled asshole that deserves everything karma decides to do to you. There are no excuses and don’t even try saying I’m sorry when you get caught.

I think this should be a big deal with the city. I mean you can get a ticket for taking a whiz in public. Letting your furry best friend crap in the middle of a busy sidewalk and leaving it should get a night in jail. After you spend the night in jail with some awesome new friends you can spend 100 hours of community service walking around and picking up dog poop at the local dog parks.

I get it. Screw the rest of the world. Let that guy in the wheelchair roll thru it, the young family with a stroller cruise thru some shit, or maybe someone else walking their dog can step in it. You’re too good to pick up poop. Don’t get your little Prince/Princess hands dirty. I wish I knew where you lived so I could bring Annabel’s daily treasures by and smear it on your front door. It happens all the time people not picking up after their dog, but to leave it right in the middle of the sidewalk is a gigantic middle finger to the rest of the world. I’m usually a fan of such things, but this isn’t cool or sticking it to the man. It is a disrespectful FU to the rest of us little people simply trying to walk our dog around the block without getting dog shit stuck in my tire, on my clothes, and eventually all other the damn place.

One can only assume that you are the person driving slow in the left lane, you park in handicap spaces when driving your Grandmas car using the handicap placard thinking you made it in life, and you’re the guy that doesn’t take his turn buying a round of drinks. Keep lying to yourself thinking you are fooling the world and nobody sees the real crap leaving person you truly are. In the meantime I’ll keep picking up after my best friend leading by example and hoping the karma Gods forget about me and concentrate on having birds poop on your head every day.

Do random acts of kindness. The world and your life will be better for it.
