Shutdown. Seems to be the only thing the news has to talk about. The polls say it is this sides fault or the other sides fault. The other day I wrote that I don’t give a fuck. That is mainly true. Only 17% of the government is actually shut down, but watching the news one would think we are at the brink of the whole world ending.

I find it silly and foolish that the left and right can’t seem to figure this out. I find it a failure that these idiots think its okay to act in such a way. Seeing the news of the fallen soldiers that arrived at Dover Air Force Base without family to be there because of the supposed shut down is complete bullshit.

Here is the deal. If I was president I would have gotten on Air Force One and picked those families up myself. These heroes gave the ultimate sacrifice for the left and right to even have this stupid fight. These men and women died so we can continue being “free”. NOTHING should ever get in the way of showing the proper amount of respect they are due. NOTHING. I have always been vocal on my views and I’m not a fan of Obama. Just my opinion, but this was a real chance to show leadership. To show respect. He is the commander in chief and needs to act like it.

This administration can spend money on having Air Force One fly around the statue of liberty & downtown New York one day for a fucking photo (yes I remember that), but somehow to not say “this is bullshit about not having money to get these families to Dover as promised” is a failure on his part. I believe Obama is a very smart man, but he missed the boat on this one. Can you imagine the press if he had simply done the right thing in this case???

My disdain does not stop with Obama. With all the multi-millionaires in congress anyone of them could have arranged it, but instead they are too busy playing politics to simply do the right thing. Makes me sick. We the people are now becoming We the suckers. Why can’t common sense get through to these elected individuals?? Again I’m not simply taking shots at the president, but he is at the top and remember he asked for the job.

It won’t change until we all learn to stand together and stop letting the games of politics pull us apart. I know lots of people that have different views from mine and I’m guilty of being a closed minded ass at times. I don’t pretend to have the answers, I simply write to open the dialogue. We can’t fix anything unless we talk about it reasonably.

I just want to say if I was of the means and I was John Boehner, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John McCain, or even Obama; I would have gotten on my private jet and picked up the families of the fallen heroes and made sure they were there to meet their lost loved ones. No cameras. No media. No speeches. Just me doing the right thing because in my opinion that is what needs to be done.

In the end after the media blew the story up for 48 hours and private money came in to do the right thing. I say “Too little, Too late” Shame on all of them.
